Georgetown Learn to Skate

The Learn to Skate program at Georgetown Ice Center began in 2004. Throught the past years our program continues to grow with the help from our parents, skaters, and coaches positive impact on the sport. Students learn the fundamentals of skating in a fun and cohesive environment from an extensively knowledgeable coaching staff.

Registration: Learn to Skate registration should take place prior to the first day of class to secure a spot in the session. Registration done prior to the first day also ensures that you and/or your skater receives a name tag on the first day of class, are placed in the correct level at the appropriate time and listed on the official session roster for attendance.

Learn to Skate registration fee is $109 for eight weeks of skating and includes:

Name Tags/Helmets: Name tags are located near the entrance to the ice rink. They are seperated by lesson times (9:00-9:25 or 9:25-9:50) and by level. Each name tag has the skaters name, lesson time and free time and a colored sticker that indicates the level enrolled. Name tags MUST be worn in order to enter the ice. Name tags are to be returned to the table after exiting the ice.

The skater must also wear a helmet along with his/her name tag in order to step onto the ice. If a helmet is not worn the skater may not be on the ice.

Attendance: If the skater attends all eight classes of the session a pass for a free open skate is awarded on the eighth week.

Parents: Parent meetings are typically held on the first week and the fourth week from 9:00-9:30am in one of the meeting rooms located in the East Rink.

No one is allowed to sit in the hockey boxes during Learn to Skate.

No one is allowed to be on the ice without skates at ANY time. If you need to speak with your skater please see the Director or an Instructor.

Parents are allowed on the ice with their skater during free time only.

Hockey sticks are not allowed on the ice during Learn to Skate.
